but only for want of wonder."

SIGHTSEEKING
Sightseeing reimagined

Our quests tell New York's most important stories. They dig through the surface layer, bringing a landmark, neighborhood, museum, or park to life through its colorful tales, past events, key characters, archival images, and Best Bites. And, to make it even more fun, each quest is also a scavenger hunt peppered with clues.

Freedom (to do it your way)

There are no starting times, groups, or waiting for others. Go fast or go slow, lingering to people-watch, sit in the sun, stop for a snack (Best Bite), finish your quest another day. Listen or read. Follow the live map or written directions. Live-stream or download using Wi-Fi and quest offline.

Active quests (not passive tours)

Sightseeking means actively seeking sights, clues, details and, ultimately, understanding.

Stories (not sites)

Cities aren't interesting because of what you can see (buildings, streets, walls, plaques, paintings, etc.). It's the stories they tell that pull you in and ignite the imagination.

Evocative imagery

When it comes to stories, pictures are as powerful as words. Every Sightseeker quest is brought vividly to life through up to 100 full-screen, tell-a-thousand-words photos, paintings, illustrations and maps.

It’s a scavenger hunt

Why? Because everything in life is more fun if it’s a game. Clues along the way encourage you to look closer (and see more). Over the course of the quest, the answers combine to solve the ultimate puzzle. If you don’t want to play, no problem. Just skip through.

Share the experience

To make it even more fun, use Sightseeker's free-sharing function and quest along with two others.
